MapRun Planners Needed
We are starting to think about the MapRun programme for the second half of the year, and we need people who’d be prepared to plan a local MapRun, rural or semi-rural in the Summer and early Autumn, and then night street races in the darker evenings.
Planning MapRuns is very straightforward, particularly if using an area we have used before, as the base map should be pretty accurate, and there is plenty of help on hand to support the planning process, produce the event maps and courses, and be there on the night to help run the event (which is a very easy process too – just count everyone out, and count them all back in again).
Almost anywhere in our patch would work, though ideally we’d avoid the areas we have used in the first half of the year, and we normally go for Wednesday or Thursday evenings.
So have a think about it, and if you fancy giving it a go, drop a note to MapRun ‘at’ ngoc.org.uk, and we can sort something out.
Cranham & Witcombe Results
Final results for Saturday’s event at Cranham & Witcombe are now published on the Results page. We apologise for the problems some runners encountered at control 187 due to there being an unmapped path near the control. We have reviewed…
Barnwood MapRun Results
Results from last night’s Barnwood MapRun are now published on the Results page. Due to a typo when publishing the event results appeared as for a Scatter, rather than Score, course. This has been corrected, and the event re-published and correctly specified as a Score event! So if you ran last night, the results on your phone will reflect your scatter result, and you need to check here to see how you actually did in Score terms. Note that this involved exporting all GPX tracks, recreating the event, and then recreating your results from the GPX track. So check that this has worked correctly!
Standings will appear later today.
To avoid this simple error in future, we will from the next MapRun – Stonehouse – specify a minimum App version level for each event, and that will be MapRun v7. So if you are still running MapRun6 on your phone, you will need to download and install MapRun – also known as MapRun v7.
