MapRun Events

Our MapRun events are a great chance to run new courses in a sociable setting. During the winter months we run almost solely in urban terrain, but during the longer evenings we aim to get out into the countryside more, with combined village, field and forest races. Everyone is welcome: we hope you can come along.

• At most events, you can start any time from 1800-1900.
• The entry fee is £6 for adults (with a £1 discount for club members), £2 for juniors.
• To guarantee a map, please pre-enter before the day of the event, on Fabian4.co.uk.
• You’ll need: a smartphone with the MapRun app, (or a watch with MapRunG – Garmin watches – or MapRunA – Apple watches). Plus in winter, a headtorch and bright clothing.
• We run a friendly competitive league each calendar year, with handicap scoring based on points scored per Km run, as well as an age graded handicap. These are designed to measure both physical effort and mental acuity in route planning and accurate navigation. There will be (very) modest prizes at the end of the season for overall and handicap winners.
