A course of two halves in Coleford this time - on the West side the town itself, with some nice suburbs but a rather barren area of industrial units with few route choices, so avoided for this course, and on the East side the satellite villages of Mile End, Coalway and Broadwell, together with a nice strip of woodland. Down the middle, two golf courses and some agricultural land, one section of which, crossed by a public footpath, is currently(Summer 2022) impassable, but should be OK by the Autumn, when the crop of oilseed rape has been harvested. So some thinking needed to work out how to collect the most points whilst minimising barren running between the halves.
