Steve Millward at Gloucester Sports has organised an introductory maprun next Wednesday – 12 May – around the city centre, and starting and finishing close to the shop in Worcester Street.
It’s an 80 minute score event aimed at new or inexperienced runners, free to enter, and open from 5pm onwards, with maps available from the Shop
Scoring is slightly different from our normal scheme – all controls are worth 20 points, with the usual 10 penalty points per minute or part minute late.
There is plenty of parking near the shop, though I am not sure what fees apply. If you are free next Wednesday evening, why not give it a go – show the face of NGOC, help out any novice maprunners who may be around, and support the shop. I shall be going – it’ll make a change from the hills this week and next!
