Cooper’s Hill Results

update 30/03 17:00 – add Planner’s Comments

Thanks to those who came along to the League event at Cooper’s Hill on Sunday 29th March.

Results and Splits for the event are now published on the Results page, and the Routegadget link there is also live.

Thanks to the Planner/Organiser Neil, Controller Roger and all the helpers who contributed to this event, and to Cranham Cricket Club for the use of their pavilion and field for parking.

Results Note

A few people didn’t appear to punch the start control, probably due to a slight difference in start procedure used for this event. In the results posted, they have been allocated a start time based on the time recorded on the check box.

Planner’s Comments

Setting up the assembly and parking at the remote Cranham Cricket Club was a real challenge, which meant the start and finish weren’t the easiest to get to and logistics were… interesting! The Cooper Hill area isn’t hugely complex, so I went for a kind of middle-distance course with plenty of zig-zags, hoping to catch out even the best bearing-takers among us. An extra twist came from the many fields in the middle of the map that couldn’t be crossed, adding another layer of challenge.

Huge thanks to the whole team who made this event happen: the start team, registration and download, our parking helpers, and the control collectors — Vanessa, Seth, James, Alexander and Zebedee. Thanks as well to Greg for the map and permissions, Pat for all the logistics and admin, and last but definitely not least, my controller Roger, who guided me smoothly and efficiently through the whole process.
