Mallards South League – Weather Outlook
First of all many thanks to everyone who has entered the Mallards South League race on Saturday. As you can imagine we are keeping a very close eye on the weather. Having just watched the Met Office forecast for tonight and tomorrow, it appears that we will avoid the worst of tonight’s very strong winds, so the risk of closure of the forest by Forestry England is small, and we will be able to get the controls out tomorrow afternoon.
However, we are on the edge of the amber snow warning zone, and so there is a chance that snow might restrict access to the forest, both tomorrow and on Saturday. On the plus side, the Severn Valley somehow often avoids the worst of the weather, be it rain, winds or snow, and so there is a good chance that we will be able to go ahead on Saturday. We will provide an update on here tomorrow afternoon, and we currently plan to issue a Go/No Go message via the website and Fabian bulk email no later than 08:00 on Saturday. So please don’t travel until you have seen that message; it may depend on something quite small like being able to drive up into the car park!

WNL Bixslade – Saturday 29th November

Soudley Ponds Race Cancelled
Sadly we have to announce that due to problems caused by Storm Claudia we have had to cancel the race. By mid afternoon we had reworked the parking to remove one significant risk caused by the heavy rain, but this evening we learned of a large fallen tree very close to the entrance to the assembly and event areas, and that has screwed up our parking plan B! We will be in touch in due course with options on refunds or carrying entries forward to a rescheduled Soudley race or other NGOC league event.
