Membership

You don’t need to be a member to come to any of our events: just come along and give it a go! We hope you’ll enjoy it and want to become a member of NGOC.

The benefits of joining

By joining NGOC, you’ll get:

  • Discounted entry to our events, and events around the country.
  • Regular updates about future events and club news.
  • The opportunity to represent the club in a variety of competitions, including trips around the country.
  • The chance to buy and wear our club kit: we have shirts, running vests and jackets available.

NGOC is part of British Orienteering: by joining NGOC, you will automatically be part of the sport’s national body. This lets you:

  • Access discounts from British Orienteering’s partners
  • Apply for awards under our Badge Scheme
  • Have your successes recognised through the ‘Navigational Challenge’ and ‘Racing Challenge’ incentive schemes
  • Have Public Liability Insurance when participating in events and activities registered with British Orienteering
  • Have access to the members’ section of the British Orienteering website

How to join

To join NGOC, go to the British Orienteering Join Online Page.

This will automatically select NGOC as the club from the drop-down list, and the South West Orienteering Association (SWOA) will be selected as the regional association.

Note: The system will offer Family membership, but this is purely to identify how many people are applying to join; it is no longer a separate membership category.

If you would like to find out more, please contact the club’s membership secretary at membership@ngoc.org.uk.
