The Lydney 2020 course, unlike the earlier 2018 course, starts and finishes at the top of town, on Highfield Hill on the way out of town towards Gloucester, so you have a bit of a climb to get back at the end of your run. Although starting on the edge of the area, there are several route options away from the start, and again unlike the 2018 event, no one at the 2020 launch run managed to get all controls, though there were some runners close to cracking the course. Maybe in daylight....?
The course takes in the new housing developments around the Start/Finish, so you can expect the area to evolve, although the map probably won't. It should still be possible to run the course, however - the new housing will just be extra, but unmapped. It also visits a bit of woodland over on the Primrose Hill side of town, and drops down into the centre.
