We kick off our 2026 programme with our traditional New Years Day Score event, this year at Lightning Tree Hill.
Our final race of 2025 is a Christmas Lights Special around central Cheltenham, courtesy of Greg Best, and based from his house near Pittville Park, with mince pies and mulled wine to wrap up the league.
After our recent race on Headless Hill, we return to the same parking and assembly areas for our final league race this year, this time running East from the Staunton ridge across to Highmeadow Woods and Bracelands campsite.
The penultimate race in the NGOC 2025 League will take place on Parkend Walk, including a new extension into Noxon Park, which brings the village of Bream into play for the longest courses getting over to the far Eastern areas of the map.
Newent is a fairly compact town/village, surrounded by usually rather dark and muddy fields, so for this race we return to the Odds and Evens format on a 1:7,500 scale map.
Our second race, and the third in the 2025-26 Western Night League, is back in the Forest of Dean, at Bixslade
The Western Night League is a series of 60-minute score events in the local area, taking place after dark in the winter - headtorches required!
[Update on 14 November 2025] If any of you have read this update even though we haven't advertised it, please read again.
Please note the change of date, from Thursday 6th November, as originally published, to Wednesday 5th November
After the hill in Gloucester, we head to the relative 'plains' of Northern Hereford and its mix of trading estates and suburbia, with some un-lit recreation grounds, footpaths and country lanes.
Welcome to the first Western Night League event of the new season, on Painswick Beacon.
Headless Hill is the westernmost part of the Forest of Dean, overlooking Monmouth from the ridge that runs North from Staunton, before dropping steeply down to the Wye.
