Winter Evening Street Races

Winter evening street races are very informal 1 hour score events, usually located in the Cheltenham/Gloucester area, using simple street maps based on OpenStreetMap(http://www.oomap.co.uk), and with controls comprising street furniture such as fire hydrants, streetlights and so on. There is a mass start at 7pm, and a strict 1 hour time limit, with heavy penalties for late finishes.

The key points:

  • Register from 6.40pm
  • Mass start 7pm. 60-minute time limit, severe penalties if back late!
  • £3 entry fee.
  • Torch (and spare torch) compulsory – it will be dark. Wear light and/or reflective clothing in order to be visible; the organiser may refuse to let you compete if not dressed appropriately.
  • Bring your own pen and map bag; maps may not be waterproof.
  • Post race analysis in the designated pub of the night.
