Travel Directions and Parking

Parking and Assembly will be in Cranham Scout Centre in the centre of Cranham village.
Post code for parking and assembly – GL4 8HP.
Cranham village is located to the East of the A46 half way between Cheltenham and Stroud, 3 miles north of Painswick.
Alternatively if approaching from the East side, the village is signed from the B4070 Birdlip to Slad road.
The Scout Centre is at the very bottom of the hill in the centre of the main village.
Parking will be in both areas of the Scout camp on either side of the road, please follow directions of marshals.
Car parking £2 per car – fee charged from Scout Centre to use their facilities including indoor toilets.

Terrain

Very runnable at this time of year with little undergrowth in most parts.
Scattered holly bushes which can be scratchy. There are some small areas of bramble. Some steep hills on the Blue and Green courses which can be slippery. Leaf covering has made many of the minor paths difficult to distinguish; this is important to consider when navigating.
There is some forestry work and felling currently ongoing in Cooper’s Hill Woodland that may affect one leg on both the Blue and Green courses.

NOTE: the Blue and Green courses cross a minor road twice (out and back). Traffic is light but can be fast. Courses are planned to cross this road at points with clear visibility of oncoming traffic, but please take extreme care when crossing. Drivers will be warned of an ongoing running event by road signs.
Unfortunately due to these road crossings under 16s cannot enter the Blue or Green courses unless shadowed by an adult.
