  • NGOC League – 2017, and 2018 CSC-CwmLickey-006

Woke up this morning to a carpet of snow in the forest, so how lucky we were(or well organised?) to fit the final league race of 2017 in before all this arrived. It’s been a great year for the league, with bumper turnouts towards the end of the season, and an almost clean sweep of the top places by NGOC runners. Had Caroline Craig not been injured for the latter part of the season we may well have seen NGOC runners on top of every podium! Read on to see the league champions for 2017, and news of changes to the 2018 league.……

Come along for the season finale of the Western Night League! For regular night orienteers this is a great final chance to drop a bad score from earlier in the season and climb up the league table!

For novice or inexperienced night orienteers, this is a chance for you to try out night orienteering in an accessible area where you should never be too far from something you can relocate on.

The format will be an hour mass start score event, so you will get the fun of all competitors scattering in different directions, and then coming together after 60 mins.

Please call me or message me if you want any information, encouragement or advice. We would be grateful if you could indicate whether you are coming below, so we can get the map printing right.

GO ON! You know you want to! Join the leagues of the Night Orienteers, we know that it's the most fun you can have on a Saturday night, so come and see for yourselves!

This short and sweet fell race -up Pen Tir and back is on tomorrow from the village of Cwmdu. Part of the route is marked with a marshal at the top to tell you when to turn round and head home but if you're like Andy Creber, you'll spot a bramble infested 'short cut' back home! It is fun and it can be great fitness training for orienteering. On the Welsh Fell Running page looks like Tom Dobra is planning to take a load of orienteers from Bristol... Perfect mob match potential there - NGOC v BOK/BUOC!
